We are currently experiencing a time out problem when sending messages or accepting invites. This is different from the issue where you might see an Error Report form. If you see the Error Report form, please submit that and your profile will be fixed.
Tracking down the cause of the timeout problem is a very high priority for us. The timeout occurs when loading the confirmation page, and it does appear that the messages are being sent. You can check your sent items to verify this.

Wouldn't you know, as soon as I posted this, we finally pinpointed the cause of the problem.
For those interested in the technical details:
The delay in confirming sent messages started on 28 Decmeber 2008, after implementing a spam-check lookup step in Tribe's smtp server configuration. This was causing messages to take more than 90 seconds to complete the sending process, and thus the network timeout error. This feature has been modified to not cause this delay now.
